SUMMARY:Round Willow Basket Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us in learning the basics of stake and strand basketry and make your very own basket to take home. You will have time to make a wide and shallow basket\, suitable for a fruit bowl or a taller basket suitable as a plant pot holder or storage basket. If time permits\, we will add able an appropriate handle. \nYou will learn how to make a round base\, insert your side stakes\, secure them with a 3-rod wale\, then weave the sides with a French rand. You will finish with a rod border and add a suitable handle if there is time. \nThe day starts at 9:30 and will finish at around 5:00. We will share a simple vegetarian lunch and the joy of making together! ☺️ \nWhile this workshop is suitable for beginners\, working with willow can be hard on the hands and does require a good level of hand strength and dexterity. Most people find the day intense but very rewarding.
